Support CRSU's Mutual Aid Effort
There is no question that we are currently in a housing crisis. Sadly, this will continue to escalate as eviction and foreclosure moratoriums are lifted. American Rescue Act money is limited, with many counties struggling to send benefits in a timely manner. Shelters are overwhelmed and an increasing number of individuals and families are being left with no options but to stay on the streets. An increasing number of individuals and families are being left with no options but to stay on the streets. To help address this crisis, Capital Region Stands Up has launched a new mutual aid program. Every two weeks, we will work with our partners to collect contributions and visit people in local encampments. If you are able, please consider helping to support us in this effort: You can make a one-time or a monthly contribution here. Or you can order specific items that have been requested here. If you'd like to drop off items for donation, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time to meet. We are currently in need of lightly used or new tents, tarps, blankets, sleeping bags, coolers, and 5-gallon buckets. Join us as we build relationships with unhoused community members and deliver contributions by emailing us at email@example.com to express interest. Help us to approach city and county government officials to work for appropriate support, shelter and long-term housing options for the unhoused by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please help us remind people that their well-being matters and we’re glad they’re here!
